Draft Script

Below is a revised copy of the script that I have written up in preparation for filming. The script is a true example of post-modernism. It's a black comedy based in a zombie apocalypse, so four genres have already been spliced together in the post-modern fashion, the jokes are based upon not only the situations the characters are placed in but also referencing other works such as the successfull franchise "Left for Dead" and slapstic from the series "Bottom". This is once again a true example of Post-modernism in the working.


Main Characters:

Costume:

All survivors have guns

Zombies need fake blood, white and black/grey makeup

1^st Scene

Set inside 2 peoples houses

[Bradley] [Picks up phone, phones Craig] Zombies are here

[George] Ok [sighs]

[Bradley] Mum we’re gonna sort out the zombie apocalypse

[Mum] Ok don’t get bitten or I’ll have to shoot you in the face

[Bradley] [Back on the phone] ok I’m on my way

[George] I’ll invite a couple of survivors

[Bradley] If you wanna [phone down, blackout]

2^rd Scene

[George] We are ready for this zombie apocalypse guys![ Act cocky from body language, look around] Wait guys How the crap did we get these guys. A we’re 16 and therefore underage and B were in England where not just about any retard can get their hands on something capable of murder.

[Bradley] Chris… shut the hell up and stop ruining this for us. Wait does anyone know how to use a gun…DAMMIT!

3^th Scene

[Survivors shooting zombies straight after previous scene after instant blackout, throughout the characters are forced to shout over the intense sound of gun fire]

[George](shouting)How the hell did we work out how to use guns?!

[Gunshots and other noises of violence continue in the background]

[Bradley] (shouting) It's okay we've played Left for Dead before! 

[George] How does that mean we can use guns??

[Kyle] Youtube tutorials?

4^th Scene

[George – panting]To..many..of…them

[Running down hill]

[Clips of face reactions]

5^th Scene

[Panting after running, having a break, lost zombies]

[George]What we gonna do?

[Bradley] I don’t know

[George]We gotta think of something!

[Bradley]Shutup im trying to think

[George]Something’s wrong

[Heartbeat/crying sound effects, random face]

[Camera slowly turns to Sophie]

[Bradley]Sophie, stop winging and get up

[George] Kyle… isn’t dead yet [everyone turns to Kyle]

[Brad]Oh crap you’re right!

[Brad shoots him in the head]

[George]Dude I don’t think that was the problem

[He points to the zombies]

[Ending thing, heart beats with zombies and survivors, heart joke then end clip]

Scene (Inspired by Bottom)

Guy on his own looks around, he raises his gun shots twice, the first shot a bullet kills a zombie sluggishly crawling towards him. The second shot is aimed at another zombie slowly walking towards him “CLICK” the guns empty, damn!

SLAPSTIC VIOLENCE INSUES

He flicks the gun in his hand to allow for pistol whipping, two boisterous smacks around the face from the gun, the zombie slams into a wall sees a blunt object and performs an uppercut to the survivors jaw who is lifted into the air and falls on his face. Two kicks in the zombies balls [comically reactions to all attacks and replies]. The camera pans slowly to the left as another survivor sitting with hand over face says in disbelief “So wrong in sooooo many ways”
